Making the Difference

Why Acne Clinics make a difference. Up to 7 Million people suffer from Acne in the UK, and we know that the effects can be more than skin deep.  Acne can have a huge impact on your self confidence and that’s why our expert skin specialists are committed to providing you with the knowledge and understanding that will allow you to better manage your condition.

We also recognise that management is not a one size fits all, and this is very important when planning your treatment. We understand that different skin types react differently to various treatments and scarring or pigment changes can vary dramatically between individuals. Our goal is to help you find the right acne treatment for you and encourage you to stay motivated to help you get the results you want.

Only the severe grades of Acne require Isotretinoin treatment. Book your appointment and we will take you through the entire plan, side effects of treatments and how to control them. We have experts who have treated thousands of patients collectively and we will be able to help you make the right choice.

Isotretinoin - Acne Clinics

Isotretinoin (often known by its brand name Roacuttane) is a very effective treatment for severe acne.  A single course usually takes between 16-24 weeks to complete, with up to 70% of people becoming acne free forever.

Like many medicines, Isotretinoin can cause severe side effects,  so it must be prescribed and supervised by one of our specialists.

It requires blood tests before and during treatment and it is also important that those of child bearing age do not become pregnant during, or for 5 weeks after treatment.  Anyone at risk of pregnancy, will be entered into a pregnancy prevention program for monthly pregnancy tests.

Antibiotics - Acne Clinics

If you have tried over-the-counter (non prescription) products for several weeks with no improvement, it could be time to speak with a member of our team about prescription medications.

For moderate/severe acne you may need a course of Antibiotics.  Whilst Antibiotics can kill the bacteria associated with acne, it’s their anti-inflammatory effects, not their antimicrobial effects, that yield the biggest skin clearing benefits.

When do you know that you need antibiotics?  How do you calm those breakouts, which happen from time to time?  We have the answers for you and a management plan tailored to your needs.

Self Assessments - Acne Clinics

Our innovate App, only for acne, (COMING SOON) offers multiple tools for self assessment of your acne. You can now assess the severity of your skin condition and monitor its progress. Our App will also help you to better understand your skin and keep track of what treatments you respond to and what could be contributing to outbreaks.

Got a Question?

A complete assessment includes detailed history of your acne, the treatments you have taken so far etc. Before we start you on your treatment we will need to do some baseline bloods as this medicine has some side effects. For female patients we need to do Pregnancy test. Only after these are done, we will be able to get you onto this treatment.
