What is Acne?

Acne is an inflammatory skin condition which leads to oily skin and the development of spots, including blackheads and whiteheads, on the skin. For many, acne only lasts for a short time during puberty when hormone levels are changing, however, for some, the effects of acne last much longer and can bring pain, scarring, and embarrassment.

Our Patient's Experience

Isotretinoin started within a week!

My daughter would have had to wait 9 months to start Isotretinoin treatment from the NHS Service. It was affecting her so badly, that she was not leaving the house. I rang Aiconic Clinics on a Monday morning. I got an appointment for her on Friday the same week. Fortunately, as the GP had already done bloods, she was able to get her Prescription the same day after a quick pregnancy test. I am so happy, it is unreal! I would whole-heartedly recommend Aiconic Clinics to anyone. Thank you.

Acne Treatment

Acne Management

Acne usually gets better over a year or two, so the first line of treatment is to simply suppress the inflammation until the acne disappears naturally. Treatment might involve lotions or tablets such as antibiotics or hormone suppression in the form of a contraceptive pill (for females only). However, acne that is very disfiguring, scarring or long-standing is classed as severe, and requires stronger medication. We are able to prescribe a drug which offers a good chance of a cure for acne

Our acne specialists at Aiconic Clinics can offer patients specialist treatment for all types of acne to help control the symptoms.
